United Airlines decides to keep Boeing 787 in land until May

United Airlines said on Thursday that it will keep its six Boeing 787 on the ground until May 12 due to problems with batteries that suspended  flights worldwide.
United Airlines, the only airline in the United States with Boeing´s 787 in its fleet, had recently announced the decision to keep the planes on the ground until March 30.

The U.S. authorities continue to investigate the problem detected in the batteries of  the 787.

48,000 passengers affected by the Boeing 787 shutdown

Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) revealed that the forced shutdown of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner has forced the airline to cancel 335 flights until next Sunday, a move that will affect about 48,000 passengers.

The company explained that on domestic flights since January 16, the day that one of the devices made ​​an emergency landing launching a worldwide alert - until January 27, will be canceled 292 flights affecting 44,074 passengers.

Moreover, adds the carrier, will be canceled 43 international flights which will impact 3778 passengers.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner worldwide are stopped until they are resolved apparent problems of overheating batteries of the airplanes that could cause fires.

New fuel leak in a Boeing 787

An airplane 'Boeing 787'  from Japan Airlines had a fuel leak today, a situation that occurred for the second time in only a week, said the Japanese news agency Jiji Press.

The Boeing was at Narita Airport in Tokyo, where it was being inspected after a first fuel leak, on Tuesday in Boston (Massachusetts).
